[こどもの日]…5月5日です。子供の成長を祝います。男の子のいる家では、こいのぼりを立てたり、五月人形を飾ったりします。菖蒲の葉を入れたお風呂に入ったり、「ちまき」や「柏餅」というお菓子を食べる風習もあります。「端午の節句」とも呼ばれます。

Children's Day is on May 5. People celebrate the growth of children. In families with boys, carp-shaped streamers are put up, and May dolls for the festival are put on display. There are also customs whereby people take a bath containing iris leaves and eat confectionery called "chimaki" (cake wrapped in bamboo leaves) and "kashiwamochi". This day is also called "tango no sekku".
