「３密」とは、「密集（みっしゅう）」、「密接（みっせつ）」、「密閉（みっぺい）」という「密（みつ）」という漢字を持った３つのことばのことです。
3密 (San-mitsu - the 3Cs) refer to the three words, 密集 (misshuu - crowded places), 密接 (missetsu - close contact setting), and 密閉 (mippei - closed spaces), using the kanji 密 (mitsu - close).
