Respect for elders
Filipinos have a great respect for their elders. This is shown in the way they relate and talk to them using "po(honorific)" and the second person plural "kayo(you)", "inyo(your)", or "ninyo(your)". The Filipino's respect and care for elders is also shown with the traditional "mano", the pressing of an elder's back hand to a youth’s forehead as a gesture of respect and blessing.
